Form of Verification:
ChexSystems
Special Notes
It has been reported that if your report is 21/2 yrs or older, they will not even see it. If this is your situation you can apply online, if not, you would need to visit an “in store” branch.
Most US banks “in store” branches are giving accounts to most people on ChexSystems. These are regular accounts, not 2nd chance checking...as long as you do NOT owe US Bank money and you are not reported on your ChexSystems report for any kind of "fraudulent activity".
There are some branches that are still not using this policy so it might be a good idea to call a branch local to you and ask about their policy first before going in.
Some “in store” branches have signs that actually says “ChexSystems? no problem!”….yet others will not open accounts at all. People are approved everyday.
Some branches do offer 2nd chance checking and some have been able to open business accounts when all debt to reporting bank(s) are paid and fraud is not indicated.
Email From person that was approved there - Hello. Just wanted to let you know that you can add US Bank in North Dakota and Minnesota to your list of lenient banks. I went into the South University Drive branch in Fargo today and spoke with Megan, one of the customer service representatives. I have a previous ChexSystems listing resulting from a horrible experience with Wells Fargo (that's for another story). That listing must be over 2 1/2 years old, because I was declined when I applied on US Bank's website - it said the turn down was based on my consumer report (credit file) with TransUnion.
When I went into the branch, Megan keyed in my identifying information into the computer (drivers license, social security number, etc.) and I was approved for a Gold Package. Megan explained that at the branch level they don't check credit reports, they only check ChexSystems listings. Even then, from what I gathered, US Bank really is only concerned about any ChexSystems listings that involve fraud, check kiting, etc. Though I'm sure each individual's situation is considered on a case-by-case basis, my accounts were approved.
