We do a ChexSystems for every checking account. $25.00 is the minimum share (savings) balance and there is a $6.00 fee to open a checking unless you are over 60. Senior citizens receive free checks and have not fee to open a checking. We can always open a savings. We can usually open a checking if all balances have been paid in full for 1 (one) year and there was no fraud.

If ChexSystems reflects that the amount due is paid in full, then we do allow you to have an account here if you fall within our field of membership (you must live, work, worship or attend school in Oxford County, Maine).

If ChexSystems does not show the balance paid in full, you would need to provide us with something in writing from the financial institution that reported you stating that the amount due was paid in full.

If the reporting is for NSF activity, we would ask you to sign an agreement stating that you realize that the account will be closed immediately if NSF activity occurs with your new account.
