ChexSystems can be a real pain to deal with when you’re trying to get a bank account opened in your name. It was established as a system to monitor and screen people who are looking to open checking and savings accounts. But the side effects of this kind system can result in you being unable to open a bank account even if you haven’t done anything shady.
Fortunately, there are still more than a couple of banks in District of Columbia that don’t use ChexSystems for verification. We’ll be looking at some of these banks as well as what your options look like if you get flagged by ChexSystems.

I have called many many locations in several different states and they are indicating to me that they do NOT use chexsystems and they do not run a credit report at all. I was not buying it at first so I kept calling more and more locations and I finally talked to a manager that told me how they were using chexsystems in the past but they no longer do. He said all you need is
- 2 IDs
- Something that reflect a current address if ID is not correct.
DO NOT order checks with Bank United. They utilize Deluxe for all of their materials basically.

Person that has an account:
I did finally find a financial institution that I think will last me for a lifetime, Library of Congress Federal Credit Union. They have so many great features and services that will benefit anyone in need of excellent financial services. Opening an account was very easy. I submitted my information on the online membership request application. The next day the membership application was mailed out and I received it the day after. I mailed out the account opening materials along with the share savings deposit of $5.00, a checking account deposit, and a one time membership share fee of $5.00. I received my new account materials two days after, I expect to receive my debit card it just a few days. Anyone who lives, works, worships, or goes to school in the District of Columbia are eligible for an account; as well as people eligible through family members. Everything they offer can be viewed online to meet your financial needs. Thank you so much for all you've done and your enduring efforts. I honestly appreciate your communication throughout this ordeal and assuring that my needs were met. I really mean it, Thank You!
